LIBRĀ 101 Introduction to Information Literacy & Information Ecosystems (1 Unit)

Introduces how information functions in society and how to participate effectively in constantly changing information ecosystems. Topics include: mis/disinformation and fact-checking; legal, economic, social, political, technological, and environmental factors that affect information; the nature of research and strategic searching; types of information sources and their creation processes and uses; notions of authority, expertise, and credibility; the use of information in building knowledge; and practicing information literacy.
